Luckily, he was only convicted of assault, after which he spent 45 days in prison. However, Wahlberg became involved in another racially motivated crime in 1988 when he punched another Vietnamese male named Hoa Trinh in the eye. 

Although many reports claimed that the victim had been left blind in one eye owing to the incident, it was later revealed that the rumors were entirely false. Even after rising to fame, Walhberg was arrested in 1992 for assault and battery.

The former rapper and his bodyguard allegedly attacked a man at a local tennis court which left the victim with “severe personal injuries, including but not limited to a fractured jaw which had to be wired shut.”
