From the preceding, it appears that, in theory, we recommend strips with 2835 SMD LEDs instead of 5050, as the former generally allows the creation of continuous homogeneous lines of light. The latter, as mentioned above, when they have several LEDs per meter lower than 120, can produce the dotted effect, which in most cases is unsightly. As already said above, come on. As regards the SMD 5630 and 5730 models, these are sources capable of emitting high lumens, particularly suitable for applications in which opal screens are used (capable of significantly reducing the actual luminous flux emitted by the device) or to minimize the dispersion typical of applications requiring indirect light (so-called soft light). In these cases, thanks to these models of SMD Screen, it is possible to obtain large lumens with lower energy absorption and, therefore, effectively illuminate, for example, large areas, very high rooms or create lines of light hidden in plasterboard veils. If it were then necessary to make the lighting of offices or workplaces similar, thanks to these sources, it usually is possible to reach the lighting levels prescribed by the regulations in force, perhaps in combination with anti-reflection micro prismatic screens capable of managing and controlling the diffused emission typical of the strips (120°) and thus minimizing the risk of glare ( UGR
Exceptionally bright and qualitative strips are those that we offer in the version with 3000K or 4000K light shades, very high colour fidelity (CRI>90) and very high lumens (over 149 lumens/W) and which are equipped with the Nichia 3030 SMD diode. As for the brand new SMD 2110 LEDs, it should be underlined here that through this technology, it is possible to create perfectly homogeneous continuous lines of light even in the presence of transparent or ultra-transparent refractors, even in the total absence of a refractor. This is because the very high density of diodes prevents the human eye from viewing the hundreds of point sources individually, giving way to the vision of a perfectly homogeneous strip. Also, in this case, since the luminous efficiency is comparable to strips with SMD 2835 diodes, it is advisable to purchase them for professional uses where the unique and exclusive brilliant effect is the prevailing need.
Fundamental in the choice is then the verification of the size of the LED strip (generally ranging from 6mm in width to 15mm for the LED strips with a double row of SMD diodes), which will be considered in the choice of the aluminium profile in which to lay the strips themselves, this last element that must never be missing to allow the best heat dissipation and maximize the useful life of the SMD LED sources and of which it is a good idea to check the dissipating capacity in terms of Watts (on DOMAGIC the data is specified for each aluminium profile or system modular). In addition to the size, the pitch of the strip also plays a fundamental role: for example, our 4.8W/m strip with 3528 diodes can be cut every 100mm, the 20.2W/m can be cut every 71mm, while the 2835 25W/m and 170lm/W strip can be cut every 50mm.
As for the power supply voltage, whatever the strip chosen, it is highly inadvisable to purchase one with a 12V/DC power supply voltage to avoid voltage drops. In general, if they exceed 5 meters in length or have no particular problems, it is always a good idea to equip yourself with 24V/DC-powered strips to ensure the best voltage uniformity and brightness.
