A Glimpse into Deadloch’s Release and Plot

Premiering on Prime Video on June 2, 2023, Deadloch transports viewers to the fictional Tasmanian town of Deadloch. The town, once a tranquil refuge, is shocked by the discovery of a local man’s body on the beach.

Two distinct female detectives lead the investigation: the meticulous local Senior Sergeant Dulcie Collins and her newly appointed, tough-as-nails partner, Senior Investigator Eddie Redcliffe. Joined by an overenthusiastic junior constable Abby, they must resolve their differences to uncover the killer before the town’s Winter Festival – a vibrant display of arts, food, and culture, and the highlight of Deadloch’s otherwise uneventful calendar.

Shooting for Deadloch occurred in multiple picturesque locations across Tasmania, a scenic island located to the south of mainland Australia. The city of Hobart, Tasmania’s southern capital, served as the series’s primary shooting site, with filming from February to June 2022.

Other featured filming locations include the towns of Cygnet, Kingston, Dunalley, and Richmond, all conveniently located close to Hobart. The series’ co-creators expressed their excitement about filming in lutruwita (Tasmania) with an “extraordinary team of creatives” in a recent press release.a
