The Blackbeard Pirates are one of the strongest pirate crews in One Piece. Led by their admiral, Blackbeard, they have quickly cemented their place among the elite. The crew has a total of ten known members, & most of them possess powerful devil fruit powers.
Like all the other pirate crews in One Piece, the Blackbeard Pirates have a hierarchy within their crew. Each crew member, except for Aokiji & Stronger has a ship under their control. Based on what ship they lead, it is plausible to assume that the ones with the lowest numbers are the strongest.
This list will only cover the captain & the ten Titanic Captains of the Blackbeard Pirates.
10/10 Doc Q
Due to his sickly looks, it is easy to forget that Doc Q is only 28 years old. He is the captain of the ninth ship of the Blackbeard Pirates, which makes him the weakest known member of the crew. Doc Q is physically very weak, & he had to rely on his horse, Stronger, to carry him around.
Doc Q possesses the Shiku Shiku no Mi, which is a paramecia type devil that allows him to create diseases. He used this ability for the first time against Trafalgar Law, but the pirate from the Worst Generation was able to nullify its effects by using Haki.
9/10 Vasco Shot
Before joining the Blackbeard Pirates, Vasco Shot was imprisoned on Level 6 of Impel Down, which meant that he was among the most heinous criminals. Vasco Shot’s epithet is “Heavy Drinker,” which is not surprising since he is almost always seen holding a bottle of alcohol.
Not much is known about Vasco Shot’s combative abilities, although considering that he was locked with the worst criminals inside Impel Down, it is very likely that he is a strong character. He traveled to Amazon Lily along with the other members of the Blackbeard Pirates, but Hancock subdued him without any problem.
8/10 San Juan Wolf
San Juan Wolf is the captain of the seventh ship of the Blackbeard Pirates. He was also locked up inside Impel Down because of the unspeakable crimes that he had committed. He was freed by Blackbeard after he emerged victorious in the brawl between him & the other prisoners.
San Juan Wolf is a giant, who has eaten an unnamed devil fruit. The devil fruit allows him to adjust his height & become so tall that he is able to st& in the ocean. San Juan Wolf’s size makes him a frightening opponent, as he can crush battleships on his own.
7/10 Catarina Devon
Catarina Devon is also known as the “Crescent Moon Hunter.” After joining the Blackbeard Pirates, she was anointed the captain of the sixth ship. Devon is considered to be the worst female prisoner to have ever been imprisoned, which implies that she is a fearsome pirate.
She is one of the few characters in the series, who possesses a mythical zoan type devil fruit. Her devil fruit is the Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Kyubi no Kitsune, & it allows her to change her appearance. With the power of her devil fruit, she was able to fool Gekko Moria into lowering his guard.
6/10 Lafitte
Lafitte is one of the original members of the Blackbeard Pirates. Hailing from West Blue, he used to be a sheriff, but he was banished because of his vile crimes. At some point, he met Blackbeard & earned enough trust that he allowed him to join the crew.
Lafitte is the navigator & chief of staff of the Blackbeard Pirates. In the vivre cards, it is implied that Lafitte might have a devil fruit that allows him to sprout wings, but it is yet to be confirmed in the manga.
5/10 Avalo Pizarro
Avalo Pizarro used to be the king of a country in North Blue. However, he was far from an ideal king, & his evil acts caused the nation to rebel against him. Eventually, he was overthrown, & he ended up with the moniker “Corrupt King”
Avalo Pizzaro did not let this small problem affect him as he managed to become one of the most wanted criminals in the world. Eventually, he was captured & locked in Impel Down. Avalo Pizzaro’s real strength remains unknown, but that will change in future arcs.
4/10 Van Augur
Van Augur is the captain of the third ship of the Blackbeard Pirates. He is usually very Quiet & collected, & he doesn’t let emotions cloud his judgment. As the sniper of the crew, Van Augur is the best marksman among them. He was able to kill seagulls that were flying above the Going Merry from an isl& that was not visible to the eye.
Van Augur possesses the Wapu Wapu no Mi, which is a paramecia type devil fruit. It allows him to warp himself & others to any location. He used the power of the devil fruit against the Heart Pirates as he transported Burgess to Winner Isl&.
3/10 Shiryu
Shiryu was the head jailer of Impel Down, but due to his tendency to kill & torture the prisoners, he was banished & imprisoned. During the Blackbeard Pirates’ raid on Impel Down, Shiryu decided to side with them & eventually became a member.
After the time skip, he was given the captaincy of the second ship of the Blackbeard Pirates. After the crew killed Absalom, Shiryu ate the Suke Suke no Mi, which allows him to turn invisible. This is a strong ability, as he can catch opponents off-guard with it.
2/10 Jesus Burgess
Jesus Burgess is the captain of the first ship of the Blackbeard Pirates, which makes him the right-h& man of Blackbeard. He is an extremely powerful fighter & after eating the Riki Riki no Mi, his strength only increased.
The devil fruit drastically improves his power, allowing him to lift a mountain with ease. Like most members of the Blackbeard Pirates, Burgess is able to use Armament & Observation Haki.
1/10 Blackbeard
Unsurprisingly, topping the list is Marshall D. Teach, better known as Blackbeard. Originally, he was a member of the Whitebeard Pirates, but he left the crew after killing Thatch & stealing the Yami Yami no Mi. From that point onward, Blackbeard was solely focused on becoming more powerful.
In the Marineford arc, he stole the Gura Gura no Mi, which gives him the ability to create shock waves. The power of this devil fruit is enough to destroy an entire isl&. To make things even more difficult for his opponents, Blackbeard can negate the power of other devil fruits by using the Yami Yami no Mi. In addition to his devil fruits, Blackbeard can also use two types of Haki.
