Best Harpie Monster Cards, Ranked

Yu-Gi-Oh!, be it through online play or TCG, has one of the biggest card game player bases in the world. And it’s easy to see why! With a super fun anime that’s actually themed around the game itself, & a complex rule system that feels awesome to master, it’s safe to say Yu-Gi-Oh! isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

10/10 Harpie Lady Sisters

Compared to other Harpie cards, however, they don’t really stack up. As a normal monster, there’s nothing the Harpie Lady Sisters can particularly do aside from fulfill their role as normal monsters. They are iconic, though, as they’re one of the first monsters Mai Valentine pulls out in the anime!

9/10 Harpie Lady 1

Harpie Lady 1 is another of the monsters that can be summoned with Elegant Egotist! As one of the original Harpie Ladies, it’s reasonably important to the anime lore (at least to Mai Valentine), but not especially relevant to the meta today.

Despite its low ranking, Harpie Lady 1 is essential to a balanced Harpie Deck. The card is very useful because it can be summoned by Elegant Egotist, though! Because of this, the player has another card on the field to Synchro/Xyz/Link summon with, so it definitely comes in h&y. A 300 attack point boost isn’t bad either!

8/10 Harpie Queen

Harpie Queen is an effect monster that can be super useful at times. With a high attack (for a level four monster) of 1900, it’s safe to have on the field without risking a lot of damage. With it on the field, players can also use Elegant Egotist to summon an additional Harpie Lady.

Its additional effect adds Harpie’s Hunting Ground to the players h& at a discard cost. Harpie’s Hunting Ground is a very useful field spell that boosts Harpie monster attacks & destroys spell/trap cards! The reason Harpie Queen isn’t higher on the list, however, is because it has to be discarded to activate this effect.

7/10 Harpie’s Pet Baby Dragon

Harpie’s Pet Baby Dragon is a solid addition to any Harpie deck. Because it gains different effects depending on the number of Harpie monster cards on the field, it’s best deployed later on in the game, because the more Harpies, the better the effect.

It’s worth noting that because this is a Dragon type & not a Winged Beast type, there will be some cards that are incompatible with it. But, the effects of this card can be used in a number of ways to enhance one’s Harpie deck. From protecting the other monsters on the field, to destroying the opponent’s monsters, this is a valuable card to have.

6/10 Harpie Harpist

Harpie Harpist may only be named that after the pun, but it’s still a super useful card. Harpie Harpist has two useful effects! When Harpie Harpist is summoned, players can target one other Winged Beast monster they control, & one monster their opponent controls, & return them to the h&.

This can be useful if the players have multiple Harpies out on the field, & if they’re dealing with a high attack monster on their opponents side. The second effect, & perhaps the more useful one, is that when Harpie Harpist is sent to the graveyard, the player can add a level four Winged Beast monster with 1500 attack from their deck to the h&. This might seem like a narrow category, but it actually encompasses a lot of the important Harpie effect monsters!

5/10 Harpie Perfumer

Harpie Perfumer is a Harpie effect monster with awesome card art that can search for a number of incredibly useful Harpie spell cards! This card, when summoned, can add one Harpie spell card from the deck to the h& as long as it specifically mentions ‘Harpie Lady Sisters’ on it.

With Harpie Perfumer the player can add Elegant Egotist to the h& if they want something classic. Or, they can go for something different like Alluring Mirror Split (which will special summon a Harpie monster card from the deck if one is destroyed by battle), Harpie’s Feather Rest (which allows the player to shuffle three Harpie monster cards from the graveyard into the deck & draw two cards), or even Harpie’s Hunting Ground as mentioned earlier!

4/10 Harpie Oracle

Despite its low attack & defense, Harpie Oracle ranks third on this list because of its two extremely useful effects. In online Yu-Gi-Oh games like Duel Links, several of the Harpie spell cards are on the limited list, which means the player can’t add multiple copies to the deck for a higher chance of drawing.

Thanks to the effect of Harpie Oracle, however, those cards can be retrieved from the graveyard no problem! This can be especially useful later in the game. The other effect of Harpie Oracle allows the player to special summon it if level six or above Harpie monster cards are on the field, so the player can access that first effect more easily.

3/10 Harpie’s Pet Dragon: Fearsome Fire Blast

Harpie’s Pet Dragon gets an upgrade with Harpie’s Pet Dragon: Fearsome Fire Blast! The reason this card is high on the list is that its effect redirects (nearly) all attacks to itself, as there is only one Harpie monster card higher than level 6 currently available. Not only that, but Harpie’s Pet Dragon: Fearsome Fire Blast also has two additional effects that can really come in h&y.

If the player controls a level six or lower Wind Monster, they can special summon this card in face up defense position, & at 2500 defense points, it’s not easy to take down. In addition, if this monster is sent to the graveyard, the player can send one Winged Beast Wind Monster to the graveyard. This effect is best used in t&em with Harpie Harpist, or even Harpie’s Feather Rest.

2/10 Harpie Channeler

Harpie Channeler, with its low attack & defense, might seem like a strange card to rank second on this list. But its effect absolutely cannot be understated! Rarely will the player be actually attacking or defending with Harpie Channeler, as it can be taken down easily. Its effect means it rarely stays on the field for more than a turn.

The effect of this card allows the player to special summon any level four Harpie monster from the deck with a discard cost. This can make it a breeze to summon Cyber Slash Harpie Lady. As it requires a discard cost, the most effective option for this is Harpie Harpist, if the player can get it into their h&, at the same time.

1/10 Cyber Slash Harpie Lady

One of the more expensive cards on this list, Cyber Slash Harpie Lady is currently the only Extra Deck Harpie card available. As it’s a level eight card, & most Harpie monsters are level four, it’s easy to Synchro summon as one of its effects allows the player to use any Harpie monster card to be used as Synchro material!

On top of that, Cyber Slash Harpie Lady has the incredibly useful effect of returning one of the opponents monsters to the h& if any spell/trap card effect is activated. And, since most meta decks rely on spell/trap cards to work effectively, Cyber Slash Harpie Lady can easily clear the opponent’s monster zone of a high level monster!
