Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is primarily a Qawwali and Sufi singer from Pakistan. He is also the main and highest paid singer of Pakistan. He is also a well known playback singer of Bollywood Industry and Pakistani Film Industry.

Life:

Rahat is the nephew of great Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and son of Farook ali khan. He is the grandson of famous qawwal of Pakistan Fateh ali khan. Rahat was born in 9 December 1974 at Faislabad, Pakistan. Rahat used to sing with his father and uncle at a very early stage. At the age of seven he was trained by his uncle Nusrat in the art of Qawwali. His wife name is Nida Khan and both of them is having a son Shazmman Khan.

Career:

Rahat performed for the first time at stage on the occassion of death anniversary of his grandson at the age of nine. He started his career in the Bollywood as a Playback singer with the song “laagi tumse mann ki lagan” from movie Paap.

Rahat gave many hit numbers to bollywood like “Laagi tumse mann ki lagan”, “O re piya”, “Jag soona soona Laage”, “Tero or”, “Jiya Dhadak Dhadak”, “Main Jahan Rahoon”, “Saanu Ik Pal Chain”, “Tumhe Dillagi”, “Nit Khair Manga”, “Teri Meri Prem Kahani”, “Ajj Din Chadeya”, “Mere Raske Qamar”, “Halka Halka”, “Tum Jo aaye”,”Tum Jo aaye”, “Sajjda”, “Tere Mast mast do”, “kuchh to bata Zindagi”, “Dil to Bacchha hai Ji’, “Main Tenu Samjhawan”, “Bol na Halke Halke” and many more.

Rahat also grabbed many awards and recognition’s including the guiness records of recording maximum number of Qawwalis.

Controversies:

In 2011, Rahat was detained by Directorate of Revenue intelligence at the New Delhi airport when Rahat was carrying allegedly 1.24 Lakh Dollars.

In 2013, There was a rumour that Rahat is going to give divorce to his wife Nida Khan and will marry with the model Falak. But Rahat clarified that it was only a rumour.

In 2018, daughter of Nusrat fateh ali khan had given the statement that she intended to take legal action against the singer’s who are doing the copyright infringement of the songs of his dad. To this Rahat comments came by saying that “I’m the successor and the adopted son of my Ustad and Uncle Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Why would I need any permission?”
