Lifechart: The digestive health-focused startup that connects patients to Ayurveda doctors digitally

Gurugram-based Lifechart was founded in 2021 as a digestive health-focused brand. The startup connects patients to Ayurveda doctors via its website, social media, and Google Play Store app.

Gurugram-based Lifechart specializes in comprehensive digestive health since it was founded in 2021. Constipation, indigestion, gas, piles, fatty liver, and more are treated by its verified experts.

Mukul Shah’s mother has had Type II diabetes for 30 years. Years of general pharmaceutical use damaged her kidneys, causing digestive issues and other issues.

Mukul sought alternate answers and found most of his studies pointing to Ayurveda.

“When I started looking for Ayurveda doctors, there was no way to find qualified ones, but a friend recommended an Ashram 250 kms from Delhi. A proper booking management system and digitization were lacking, adds Mukul.

Mukul took his mother to the Ashram for advice. After six months of the therapy, his mother’s health improved dramatically and her medicine dependence dropped to 20%.

Mukul explains that he created Lifechart to provide an alternative healthcare ecosystem for India and the world.

Lifechart is a holistic gut specialty brand founded in 2021 by Mukul Shah, K Sandeep, and Mansi Sharma. The startup treats constipation, indigestion, gas, piles, fatty liver, and gut health.

Mukul, a serial entrepreneur, met Mansi at Yolo Bus. Sandeep met Mukul in 2019 when he offered him the Yolo CTO position. Instead of joining Yolo, Snadeep co-founded Lifechart.

Gurugram-based firm has 500 doctors and 30 health buddies across India and has consulted 1.5 lakh patients.
Connecting patients to doctors

Lifechart offers complete solutions. Mukul said the startup cares for patients from disease detection to rehabilitation.

Lifechart offers three customer contact methods. First, users can download the Google Play Store app and communicate with doctors in 60 seconds.

“We are proud to connect customers to Ayurveda doctors in 60 seconds using AI. Mukul says we offer clinically-tested products from our experts, disease recovery, and patient care management under one roof.

Second, clients may connect with doctors on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube from its significant presence. Lifechart also advertises on social media.

Most of our consumers are from Tier II and Tier III cities with considerable social media engagement, adds Mukul. Our doctors conduct sessions and upload reels about its products and use on social media. These outlets allow customers to make appointments.”

Thirdly, the website lets patients find products and use teleconsultation links to see doctors. Its products are solely available on Lifechart, but it hopes to debut on ecommerce platforms in the future months.
How it works?

Lifechart assigns a health buddy to help customers make dietary and lifestyle adjustments after they check in. Pharmacy-trained health buddies diagnose and pass calls to doctors.

Lifechart Labs’ in-house doctors formulate and FICCI lab tests the items. Doctors with years of experience are guided by a research pharma head.

Lifechart also sells OTC products without a prescription.

Mukul believes there is a major vacuum in educating clients about Ayurvedic medicine, hence they offer free 24×7 consulting.
Revenue and business model

Lifechart provides digital doctor consultations and doorstep delivery on a B2C model.

Based on the doctor’s experience, the platform costs Rs 5–Rs 20 per minute for consultations, which last about 15-20 minutes.

Lifechart uses an in-house AI generative engine to collect consumer data during consultations to estimate demand and new product categories.

Based on this data, the site produced five popular immediate gastrointestinal relief products. These include constipation, fatty liver, stomach problem, piles, and indigestion formulas.

“We are providing tech-enabled tools for our Ayurveda doctors to diagnose diseases digitally in an effective way using artificial intelligence,” says Mukul.

We also estimate product demand, sicknesses, client demographics, etc. with our AI engine. Mukul believes Lifechart doc coach app will give Ayurvedic doctors equal opportunities, digital resources, and a platform to use modern diagnosis AI techniques.

Its items cost between Rs 320 to Rs 2,300. Vegan capsules, syrups, and powders are available.

“These five organic products, which are formulated by our in-house doctors, are getting a huge response,” says Mukul.
Traction and forward

IMARC estimates that the Indian ayurvedic products market will grow 19.3% from Rs 62,600 crore in 2022 to Rs 1,82400 crore in 2028.

Starting in November 2022, the platform recorded an ARR of Rs 2 to 2.4 crore till August 2023 and is predicted to reach Rs 6-6.5 crore by the end of 2023 with unit-level profitability.

Mukul claims Lifechart has reached 150,000 clients with its technology, product mix, and distribution models.

“We aim to close FY24 with net revenue of Rs 40 crore and build on this growth, we aim to touch Rs 500 crore net revenue by FY26,” says Mukul.

The startup raised $200,000 from Nazara Technologies founder Nitish Mitterssain, US-based VC firm ExpertDojo, and Sunn91 Ventures. Entrepreneurs invested Rs 20 lakh to start the business.

Marwari Angels, Atal Incubation Fund, a pharma giant, and angel investment platform CAT have invested 70% in its seed round.

In the congested Ayurveda industry, D2C enterprises are our biggest competitors. Mukul says Lifechart innovates with AI-driven diagnostics and demand prediction.
