Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3 is one of the most awaited movies and ever since he made the announcement of Ranveer Singh playing the titular role, there are many who are not convinced with it and they openly expressed their disagreement and disappointment over the same. Needless to say, Shah Rukh Khan did a great job and was simply brilliant as Don in the first two parts of the franchise and it might have become difficult for fans to imagine someone else in the role because SRK got into the skin of the character.

However, now Farhan Akhtar breaks silence and responds to people who are not happy with him for casting Ranveer Singh in place of Shah Rukh. While many are of the opinion that the “Band Baaja Baaraat” actor won’t be able to fill in SRK’s shoes, Farhan thinks otherwise and says that even Shah Rukh Khan had to go through the same criticism because he was taking Amitabh Bachchan’s legacy forward and Big B is considered as the original Don of Bollywood.

Recently in an interview with BBC Asian Network, Farhan Akhtar says that Ranveer is perfect for the role and he will do full justice with his character. In the words of Farhan, “Ranveer is amazing. He’s great for the part. He’s also, as you can imagine, really excited and nervous about the thing. You’re filling some big shoes. But we went through the same emotional process when Shah Rukh did it, and everyone was like, ‘Oh my God, how can you replace Mr. Bachchan?’ That whole thing happened then.”

Farhan also says that the script is written keeping in mind the actor’s personality and style and he is sure that viewers will enjoy Ranveer’s performance as the new Don.

There is absolutely no doubt that Ranveer plays his characters to the perfection and even in negative shade, he overshadows other characters which was clearly apparent in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat which starred Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone other than Ranveer.
