Elon Musk announces record-breaking number of monthly users for Twitter, now X

Twitter, now “X,” owner Elon Musk says Monthly Users have tripled this year.
The tech mogul posted a graph showing the platform’s development, showing that 2023 saw a new peak for the number of monthly users. The total shown on the graph, which included data from January 1 through the day before, was 541,562,214.

“In 2023, X monthly users hit a record level. The chart runs from today (January 1) through yesterday. Additionally, this is the result of the eradication of a sizable number of bots,” Musk said in his tweet.

Twitter’s iOS app has been updated to match the rebranding, swapping out the recognizable blue bird graphic for the new X design and name.

In a series of tweets sent on July 23, Musk first alluded to the renaming, saying that the Twitter brand will soon be retiring and being progressively replaced by the X brand. Following these tweets, the X logo appeared on the platform’s web version, and employees at Twitter’s offices were observed plucking letters from the vertical sign before the police intervened and stopped them.

The new X name and logo were made visible in an earlier this week upgrade to the Android app. The ‘Ads Revenue Sharing’ initiative, which seeks to make X the finest online platform for content creators to make a livelihood, was also launched, according to Twitter, and is now open to all qualifying producers worldwide.

Musk stressed that Twitter’s acquisition by X Corp had two goals: to uphold free expression and to advance X, which he called the “everything app.” This process of rebranding extends beyond simply altering the name of the business, since Twitter’s original name made sense when messages could only be 140 characters long, like birds tweeting.

With the capacity to submit multiple types of material, including extended movies, the platform has evolved, and the rebranding hopes to better reflect that.
