Advancing Technology: Vande Bharat Trains to be Enhanced with 25 Additional Features

Since their introduction, the locally built semi-high-speed trains known as the Vande Bharat Expresses have received praise for their cutting-edge facilities, safety features, and smooth ride. The nation’s flagship trains, which are viewed as a representation of India’s technological advancement, are about to be reintroduced with modern amenities. There are 25 cutting-edge safety features in the new VB Expresses being made at Chennai’s Integral Coach Factory (ICF).

After visiting the ICF, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said, “I am happy to see the improvements being carried out at the Vande Bharat Express and I have inspected about 25 safety and technical improvement features that have been implemented in the next Vande Bharat Express that is under production.”

The updated Vande Bharat trains have new features like:

  • the angle of the seat dropping increasing
  • better seat cushions
  • improved availability to mobile charging stations
  • Longer footrests can be found in executive chair cars.
  • Increased depth in the washbasin to reduce water splashing Improved lighting in the bathrooms
  • the inclusion of mounting points for wheelchairs in the driving trailer coaches for divyangjan passengers
  • To make it easier to use, reading lamp touch switches from resistive to capacitive.

  • Additionally, new anti-climbing equipment is being put at the rakes for increased safety.

Saffron, “inspired by the Indian Tricolour,” will be the new colour of the 28th rake of the indigenous train, which is now being produced at ICF.

“This is a Make In India concept, meaning it was created by Indian engineers and experts. Therefore, throughout the operation of Vande Bharat, any feedback we receive from the field units regarding air conditioners, restrooms, etc. would be used to adjust the design, Minister Vaishnaw remarked at a press conference.

Other safety measures included in the latest Vande Bharat models include a collision avoidance system and a fire suppression system. In addition to other safety features, the trains have CCTV cameras to watch the inside and outside of the vehicle.

The 28th rake of the indigenous train, which is now being constructed at ICF and “inspired by the Indian Tricolor,” will have saffron as its new color.

“This is a “Make in India” concept, which means that it was developed by Indian engineers and specialists. Therefore, Minister Vaishnaw noted at a news conference, “Any feedback we get from the field units about the ACs, restrooms, etc., is used to improve the design throughout the operation of Vande Bharat.”

The current Vande Bharat models also include a number of additional safety features, such as a collision prevention system and a fire suppression system. The trains are equipped with CCTV to keep an eye on the interior and outside of the vehicle as well as other safety elements.
