CBI files case against ex-NCB officer Sameer Wankhede; search continues at 20 locations

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a case against former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officer Sameer Wankhede, with Aryan Khan’s involvement in the case bringing him into the public eye.


As per the FIR filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Sameer Wankhede and his associates have been accused of demanding a sum of 25 crores in relation to the Kodiak Cruise Aryan Khan case.


The FIR further alleges that an amount of 50 lakhs was extorted by them. In a recent development, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a case against Sameer Wankhede, a former officer of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), on charges of corruption.

As per sources from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), a FIR has been filed against Sameer Wankhede and four others. Which other officers of the NCB are involved? The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has carried out search operations at multiple locations, such as Mumbai, Ranchi, Kanpur, and Delhi.

As per the FIR filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Sameer Wankhede and his associates have been accused of demanding a sum of 25 crores in relation to the Kodila Cruise Aryan Khan case. It has further been alleged that they accepted an amount of 50 lakhs as extortion.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken action against Sameer Wankhede, the former Zonal Director of Mumbai’s Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), and four others, including Vishwa Vijay Singh, the former Superintendent of NCB, Ashish Ranjan, the former Intelligence Officer of Mumbai NCB, KP Gosavi (the individual who made Aryan’s photo viral), and Sanville D’Souza (a case has been registered against private individuals).

The aforementioned individuals have been charged under the Prevention of
Corruption and IPC sections. As part of the investigation, raids have been conducted at 29 locations. In a recent development, Aryan Khan has been taken into custody in connection with a drug-related case that took place on a cruise ship.

In the ongoing cruise drugs case, Sameer Wankhede has reportedly arrested Aryan Khan, the son of Bollywood’s renowned actor Shah Rukh Khan. Sameer held the position of the head of the Mumbai Zone of the Mumbai Narcotics Control Bureau during that time. Following his arrest, Aryan Khan has been incarcerated. In May 2022, Aryan Khan was exonerated of the allegations against him on account of
insufficient evidence.

Allegedly, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) received a tip-off regarding the consumption of drugs by private individuals aboard a private cruise ship. The information suggested that these individuals were in possession of drugs. According to reports, the accused in question are believed to have attempted to extort a sum of Rs 25 crore from the arrested individual.

It is alleged that they issued a threat, stating that if the demand was not met, the victim would be falsely implicated in a narcotics-related charge. In addition, a sum of 50 lakh rupees was also collected as a token amount. In a major development, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted raids today at 29 locations
across Mumbai, Delhi, Ranchi, Lucknow, Chennai, and Guwahati in connection with the case involving Sameer Wankhede and other accused.

The investigative agency reportedly recovered several suspicious papers, cash, and articles during the operation. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) may soon issue orders to summon Sameer Wankhede and other accused to include them in the ongoing investigation.

As per sources from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), a conspiracy was allegedly devised by Sameer Wankhede and other accused to extort Rs 25 crore from Shahrukh Khan. The report on the Vigilance investigation has raised questions. During the investigation, the vigilance team reportedly obtained statements from Sameer Wankhede and other officials who were under suspicion at the time.

In a recent development regarding the Aryan Khan case, it has been reported that Sameer Wankhede, who was previously involved in the investigation, has been removed from the case and sent back to his home cadre. Simultaneously, a probing official was dispatched to CISF while two officers were suspended.
