3. The Lost City of Heracleion 

Appearing in a few ancient texts, the city of Thonis-Heracleion was hidden away for thousands of years. It was submerged deep under the sea and was discovered by French archaeologist Franck Goddio and his team after years of searching.

Thonis-Heracleion completely submerged 6.5 kilometres off Alexandria’s coast. Statues standing at 16 feet, the remains of a massive temple, 64 ships, 700 anchors and a treasure trove of gold coins are among things discovered in the underwater ruins. The Blue Hole is a diving location on the coast of the Red Sea. It is a natural place caused by natural factors, the effect of the fall of a meteor from the sky. This led to the formation of a deep blue hole painted by nature in the Red Sea.
