Police arrest Two suspected Robbers in Ekiti

…Recovers stolen vehicle.

The Anti -Vehicle Theft Section AVTS of the Ekiti State Police Command has arrested two suspected Armed robbers in Ado Ekiti.

In a statement, the state Police Command public Relations officer, Mr Sunday Abutu said that the command received a credible tip-off that two suspected robbers were sighted around Agric-Olope Area of Ado Ekiti driving a Suzuki mini Bus popularly know as Akoto.

He explained that upon receipt of the information, the AVTS operatives swung into action, mobilized to the area and arrested one Asimiyu Temitope Thank-God and one Oyewunmi Biodun.

Mr Abutu said during investigation, it was revealed that the two suspects came from Delta State, where they have been perpetrating their criminal activities to Ekiti State to continue their heinous crimes.

The Ekiti State plPolice Public Relations Officer noted that It was also discovered that the vehicle found with them was a stolen bus that was reported stolen by Delta State Police Command.

He said further investigation revealed that one of the suspects, Asimiyu Temitope Thank-God, has in his possession some Police kits and accoutrements and has been impersonating as a police officer in Delta State.

Mr Abutu said that the arrested suspects would be handed over to Delta State Police Command for further investigation.

While comending members of the public in giving credible and timely information to Police, Mr Abutu implored everyone to be security conscious and report any suspicious person or group of persons found in their environs to the nearest Police Station for necessary actions.
