Two persons have been fear dead in a ghastly road accident around Olawuwo area of Ado Ekiti this morning

Though Police PRO, Sunday Abutu is yet to confirm the incident, witnesses say the two persons who were police officers were hit while on motorcycle by a tipper lorry at a turning point around Olawuwo.

They alleged that the driver of the tipper lorry who ran away immediately the accident occured must have drunk drive having veered off his lane to run over the victims who were said to be heading to work.

Some of the witnesses who spoke with progress FM said the incident would not have occured if the lane currently under repare along the road have been completed on time.

They said the U turn point where vehicles from Ado Ekiti cross over to the other lane from Iworoko has always appear dangerous to motorists with a call on the state government to expedite rehabilitation of the road so as to prevent further carnages.

Meanwhile the two police officers involved in the accident have been reportedly taken to the morgue at the state teaching hospital in Ado Ekiti.
