Photo Dump // March + April

This year has been incredible in so many ways, and I can’t wait to look back on it and see all the areas God was working in my life. A lot has happened just in the last few months, weeks and even days, and even though I’ve been incredibly busy and behind on posting, in a way it’s been good because it’s given me a lot of ideas for future posts, and I’m excited to get back into blogging regularly ︎

March ’22

March was a good month. The first signs of spring finally came, and even some sunny, Warm Days. I got a lot of writing done and quite a few projects accomplished too, one of which was helping my parents with the pig pen. We got it fenced in, attached the gates, moved the pig house to the correct spot, and now just need to put the metal roofing on so the pigs can move in permanently.

Afternoon writing
Warm days = long naps

I don’t nearly cross the creek to take walks as often as I’d like, but with the few sunny days we had in March I was able to take Jethro to the back of the property, and it was fun watching him swim in the pond or dig for field mice. It’s so peaceful back there, and I can’t wait for summer when spending afternoons on that side of the creek becomes a common occurrence.

Something that has been on my bucket list forever is snowboarding. I’ve always wanted to go but never have had the chance, but this year a friend invited me and I had a blast! I definitely fell an unnecessarily large amount of times, but I’d go back in a heartbeat! Maybe someday I’ll be like all those pros speeding by me on the way down the mountain ; )

As for family related things, Breza celebrated her 8th birthday! I got to come home from school at lunch that day and party with her and all her little friends until track practice later in the afternoon, and I’m so glad I did! It’s crazy to think the “baby” in our family is now 8. She’s such a beautiful girl inside and out and truly one of my best friends. I couldn’t live without this little stinker ; )

One of the things that has been keeping me busy is track. It’s my first time doing it, and in a way it’s a lot different then I expected, but I am really enjoying it. It’s been super fun and whenever we have a meet I always feel like a little kid at a circus because of how many events are going on at one time. My team is pretty awesome, and it’s been fun cheering each other on.

April ’22

April started off with a a two night retreat with my track team. We stayed in cabins and played a lot of corn hole, pickle ball, card games and numerous games around the fire, and we ate lots of good food. It was fun getting to know my team better, and cool listening to my coaches not just talk about track in of itself, but talk about doing everything as a team to glorify God in it, and be a light to other teams we compete against. It really made me think of how I can glorify God in everything, even a sport, just by having the right mindset, attitude, etc.

March and April combined, we had a lot of new animals join the farm. We currently have several new chicks, ducklings, baby goats, and my sister got another rabbit. This is just one of the many reasons I love spring so much!

Well, that’s about it for pictures. A few other highlights from the past two months were:

  • Getting beta readers for my book (!!!)
  • Watching the new Batman in theaters
  • Going to my cousin’s engagement party
  • Going out to lunch with my Nana

As if I haven’t said it enough already, the past several months were pretty awesome. Looking back I can already see how the Lord was preparing me even just for where I am now. Not only that but I think because of how busy I was/still am, He’s been showing me that sometimes you have to take a pause on the “normal” and take the leap of faith in trying something new. There’s certain things I’ve learned that I wouldn’t have unless I “said yes” to some of the new areas in my life, and even though they can feel daunting at first, it enriches the result and more often times then not ends up being incredibly worth it. I’ve said it many times before too, but it still amazes me each and every day how perfect God’s plan for our lives are. It’s incredible to me when I look back on certain times in my life and even the small decisions made that had such an impact on my life now.

How was your March and April? What’s something you’re looking forward to this month?

SHINE ON,

BROOKLYN
