Andy Cohen opens up about John Mayer friendship

Andy Cohen and John Mayer are in love but it is not what we all think.

The Watch What Happens Live host swore on his kids’ lives that the two friends are not involved sexually.

On Wednesday’s episode of SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show, Cohen, 55, revealed,

“I am in love with John Mayer. We are in love with each other,”

Stern, 69, asked his guest,

”Swear on your children’s lives that there has never been anything sexual between you and John Mayer,”

Referencing to his children, Ben, 4, and Lucy, 1, the Bravo host added, “Yes. I do. I swear,”

The Heartbreak Warfare singer, 45, also spoke at Andy’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in February 2022. He even attended his son Ben’s baby shower.

Mayer even received some mentions in Andy’s new book, The Daddy Diaries: The Year I Grew Up. He even celebrated his dear friend’s 50th birthday.

After Mayer serenaded Cohen on his birthday, the latter was forced to clear their relationship confusion.

In 2018, he denied dating rumors on CNN, saying,

“Listen, we have a very sweet friendship, and we are together all the time. I think that I was not surprised because we also have a great love for each other,”

“It just seems like the obvious assumption.”

Andy and John’s friendship blossomed in no time

Andy Cohen explained that their friendship developed really quickly.

While appearing on a December 2022 episode of the Table for Two with Bruce Bozzi podcast,  Cohen said,

”John Mayer is someone who is very in touch with his emotions,”

“He very quickly in our friendship started saying, ‘You know what, I gotta tell you something — I love you,’”

He added,

“He is someone to say, ‘I love you and I cherish you and I cherish our friendship’ — just this stuff that straight guys aren’t necessarily supposed to say.”

Mayer who is reportedly single, dated many A-listers like Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Jessica Simpson, and Jennifer Aniston.

Cohen, for his part, previously dated Broadway actor John Hill.
