MLB Player Greg Deichmann is now married. The 27-year-old baseball athlete got married to her fiancee Burckel Gervais nearly a year after their engagement.

Almost a year back, Deichmann got down on one knee on a bed of rose petals with a mountainous backdrop. The athlete announced their engagement via Instagram post captioning,

“3/31/2022 I get to spend the rest of my life with my best friend. I love you Burckel Mae”

On Tuesday, February 28, Deichmann confirmed to PEOPLE that he and Burckel are now husband and wife. The revelation comes almost a month after their marriage.

The Wedding ceremony took place in early January in an intimate ceremony at the Grand Velas Resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Similarly, the couple opted for a timeless and whimsical fairy-tale wedding in a beachside destination. The Oakland A’s outfielder said to the outlet,

“The relationship my husband and I have is truly like a fairy tale, as cheesy as that may sound. We wanted our wedding day to reflect the kind of relationship we have and that would bring the intimacy we wanted with our guest.”

The celebration began with a romantic rite in front of the ocean when their officiant asked the couple to “lose their eyes, hold hands, and take a second to hear the waves, smell the air, feel the wind.”

The new bride reminisces,

“It felt like the craziness of the wedding day slowed down in an instant and gave us a moment of appreciation.”

Gervais made her bridal entry in the soundtrack, “I Get to Love You” by Ruelle, which was a surprise entry for Gerg. She admitted,

“I even kept it a secret from my husband, so he didn’t know what song I was walking down to until he walked with his parents at the start of the ceremony .”

Similarly, she gushed about her favorite part of the ceremony, expressing,

“The moment I saw my groom before I even started walking down the aisle. We did not have a first look so seeing him for the first time was a feeling I will never forget.”

Wedding attires, Honeymoon

For the big day, Burckel donned a sparkly mermaid-style wedding dress from Galia Lahav with a plunging neckline by Galia Lahav.

The groom, on the other hand, looked dapper in a white tuxedo jacket and black dress pants.

Following their nuptials, the pair jetted off for their honeymoon to Tahiti. Gervais shared,

“For sure, [it] will not be a once-in-a-lifetime vacation spot”
