Parts of Italy hit by floods, 9 killed; Displaced 13 thousand

The most affected cities are Emilia Romagna. Roads, houses, and crop fields have been submerged. Many have taken shelter on the roof of the house. From there, 5,000 residents were evacuated to safe havens. Helicopters are also used for emergency rescue work. In addition, the cities of Cesena and Forlio Faenza are also affected.

The country's National Meteorological Department said up to 508 millimeters of rainfall was recorded in the region in the last 36 hours. Which is half of the total annual rainfall. Moreover, the waters of the main rivers of the region flow over the boundary. Schools have been closed, train services have also been suspended. Several important roads are also closed for traffic.
