Ademola Lookman scored a brace to give Nigeria qualification to the quarter-finals of the African Cup of Nations held in Ivory Coast, after a well-deserved 2-0 victory over its Cameroonian counterpart in the round of 16 of the tournament on Saturday.
Ademola Lookman scored the first goal for Nigeria in the 36th minute, before adding the second in the 90th minute of the match.
The match was largely lackluster in its events, with play limited to midfield and the absence of Cameroon's offensive effectiveness.

Nigeria opened the scoring in the 36th minute after Victor Osimhen put great pressure on the Cameroonian defense, snatching the ball from Omar Gonzalez and passing to Lookman, who shot strongly. Although Fabrice Ondoa tried to stop the ball, it fell into the net.
Lookman added the second goal for him and his team after a cross pass from Calvin Bassi, which was met by the Italian winger Atalanta with a direct shot into the goal.
