Chairman of the Yemeni Leadership Council calls for the destruction of the Houthis' capabilities News

The Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council saw Rashad Al-Alimi The American and British strikes on the group's sites Ansar Allah Houthis In Yemen, it will not be a solution to the current situation in The Red Sea.

Al-Alimi told reporters in Riyadh on Saturday, “Defensive operations are not the solution. The solution is to eliminate the Houthis' military capabilities.”

He added, “The solution is a partnership with the Legitimate Government to control these areas and restore state institutions.”

In response to a question about whether Yemen seeks American and Saudi military support to carry out ground military operations to eliminate the Houthis, Al-Alimi said, “We demand that every day, every month, and every year.”

He continued, “We want support for the legitimate government, not for the sake of war… but to force the Houthis to come to dialogue.”

Al-Alimi's statements came after US forces launched new strikes in Yemen at dawn today after the Houthis targeted a British oil ship with missiles in the Gulf of Aden, causing it to catch fire.

The Houthis target ships owned or operated by Israeli companies, or that transport goods to and from Israel as they pass through the Red Sea, in support of the resistance in Gaza. This prompted many major shipping companies to avoid sailing through the Red Sea.

On January 12, American forces began launching a series of strikes on Houthi positions in Yemen, and British forces joined them.

As a result of these strikes, the Houthis began targeting American and British ships in the region, considering that the interests of both countries had become legitimate targets.
