Experts warn against children drinking some types of tea Mirror


Experts recommend that parents pay attention to the child's age before introducing medicinal herbal tea to him; Since some types may not be suitable for young Children.

The Chamber of Pharmacists in the state of Lower Saxony in Germany has clarified that Fennel Tea should not be given to children under the age of 4, and that children up to the age of 11 should drink it in moderation, in accordance with the recommendations of the European Medicines Agency.

The Chamber justified this by saying that fennel tea contains high amounts of estragole, which is considered harmful to the liver and causes cancer, adding that mint tea is only recommended for Children Aged 6 years and above to treat stomach cramps.

Thyme tea is suitable for children aged one year and above to treat colds and coughs, and it can be drunk at a rate of up to 3 cups per day.
