Lucy Letby forms a bond with baby poisoner Michelle Smith and accomplice Shauna Hoare, involved in the tragic death of 16-year-old schoolgirl Becky Watts.

Lucy Letby, who was held on remand before her trial in August, reportedly formed friendships with two other killers during her time in prison. The individuals she allegedly bonded with were Michelle Smith, who murdered her own 42-day-old baby, and Shauna Hoare, who assisted in killing 16-year-old schoolgirl Becky Watts. A source revealed that the trio spent a lot of time together, playing board games, having meals, and relaxing in the courtyard. The reason for their close-knit relationship was believed to be their shared belief in their own innocence. Letby, Smith, and Hoare met while at HMP Bronzefield in Surrey, where Letby was awaiting trial. Another source mentioned that Letby became friendly with a nurse during her time in prison and was even allowed to use a laptop in her cell to work on her case. Letby has since been transferred to HMP Low Newton in Co Durham. The decision to separate the trio was seen as a positive move. Letby was convicted of attacking babies in a hospital’s neonatal unit, and she will face a retrial for one count of attempted murder. The other charges on attempted murder will not be retried. Smith, who was also imprisoned for the murder of her baby, recently had her appeal for a transfer to an open jail rejected. Likewise, Hoare, who played a role in Becky Watts’ murder, was released last month after serving eight years in prison. The relationship between the three convicted killers has attracted attention over the years, with reports of their activities while incarcerated and their claims of innocence.
