Prince William takes Prince George to Paris to support The Dragons in Rugby World Cup quarter-final match against Argentina

Prince George, accompanied by Prince William, has travelled to France to show support for Wales in their quarter-final match against Argentina in the Rugby World Cup. This marks the first time the ten-year-old has attended an international sports event abroad. While his mother, the Princess of Wales, supports the England rugby team as the patron of the Rugby Football Union, George’s attendance at the Wales game indicates his loyalty to the Welsh side. He arrived at the Stade de Marseille with his father, who is the patron of the Welsh Rugby Union, both dressed in matching navy suits and red ties, showing their support for Wales.

In February of the previous year, George stood with his parents as they watched England play against Wales in the Six Nations, but he was unsure of which team to support. When questioned about his choice at Twickenham, the young prince shrugged and smiled at William, who laughed and said, “It’s become quite the thing in the house,” pointing at Kate, and added, “She is quite into it. I’m trying to stay out of it.” As George prepares for school entrance exams this autumn, he plays rugby at school.

In May, William, who is also the patron of the Football Association, received criticism for choosing not to attend the historic Women’s World Cup final between England and Spain in Sydney. However, Kate is scheduled to watch England’s quarter-final match against Fiji at the same venue in Marseille on Sunday. Wales finished on top of their pool, remaining undefeated throughout the group stages and securing a dominant 40-6 victory over Australia.
