According to Forbes, Ronaldo earned an estimated £214 million ($260 million) in 2023, making him the top earner. The 38-year-old’s move to Al-Nassr last year marked the beginning of a trend of high-profile players moving from European football to the Gulf State. Ronaldo, who is the leading scorer in the Saudi Pro League, is reportedly earning more than double the amount made by last year’s highest-paid player, Kylian Mbappe. Forbes estimates that Ronaldo earns around £164 million from his club and another £49 million from off-field ventures. Apart from playing, Ronaldo has also appeared in promotional videos for various events in Saudi Arabia. The other Saudi Pro League stars in the top 10 include Neymar, Karim Benzema, and Sadio Mane. Lionel Messi, who recently joined Inter Miami, is in second place with earnings of £111 million. Neymar follows closely behind with £92 million, just a fraction more than his former teammate Mbappe. Erling Haaland, the Premier League’s highest-paid player, is in sixth place with an estimated income of £48 million. Mohamed Salah, Liverpool’s star player, reportedly earns £44 million from his playing and endorsement deals. Kevin de Bruyne, currently injured, secured a lucrative endorsement deal and is in ninth place with an estimated earning of £32 million. Harry Kane completes the top 10 with a £30 million income.
