Hamas has examined the potential threats posed by Kibbutz civilians, assessed Israeli Defence Force response times, and assigned specific tasks to individual gunmen, as revealed by discarded raid plans. An Israeli emergency responder unit discovered the alleged 14-page operational plan while inspecting Hamas bodies found in a pickup truck. The document, marked as ‘top secret’ and dated October of last year, includes a raid plan targeting Mefalsim, a Kibbutz with a population of 1,000 civilians, 20 of whom are part of a rapid response team. The plan involves the use of artillery and instructs a team member to create an opening in a fence. It also suggests that Hamas forces should capture soldiers, residents, and take hostages for negotiation. The discovery of these plans comes as Israel prepares for a potential ground invasion of Gaza following Hamas militants’ deadly rampage across Israel’s fortified separation fence, resulting in the deaths of over 1,200 Israelis. The emergency responder unit is currently reviewing the plan, and further investigation is ongoing.
