Former Hamas Leader Urges Muslims to Participate in Day of Jihad on Friday, Mobilizing Street Protests against Israel

A call has been made by a former Hamas leader for protests to be held across the Muslim world in support of the Palestinians. Khaled Meshaal, the current head of Hamas’s diaspora office, urged the governments and peoples of neighbouring countries such as Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Egypt to join the fight against Israel. He emphasized that this is a crucial moment for the application of theories taught by jihad scholars. Meanwhile, Hamas itself reiterated Meshaal’s call for an “Al-Aqsa Flood” uprising. The terrorist group urged its supporters in Gaza, the West Bank, and Israel to rise up and mobilize in solidarity with Palestine. Israel, in response, vowed to escalate its actions against Hamas with a ground offensive. The death toll in Gaza has risen to over 1,300, with many civilians among the casualties. Israel has imposed a total siege on Gaza and launched a powerful bombing campaign, causing significant destruction. The International Committee of the Red Cross has expressed concern about the dire humanitarian situation, including the risk of hospitals losing power. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has arrived in Israel to show solidarity, prevent further escalation, and work towards the release of hostages. Qatar is also working with the US to establish communication with Hamas for negotiation.
