Revealed: Protester who ambushed Keir Starmer with glitter is a jobless ex-private schoolboy who studied at £24k-a-year Dubai College, was raised in a £1.5m Surrey home and has jetted to 13 countries in ten years

Yaz Ashmawi, the eco protester who disrupted Sir Keir Starmer’s speech at the Labour Party conference, has been revealed to be a jobless ex-private schoolboy. Ashmawi attended a Prestigious Private School in the UAE with an annual tuition fee of £24,000. He comes from a wealthy background and grew up in a £1.5 million house in Surrey. Additionally, Ashmawi owns a second home worth £750,000 in Devon. His glitter attack on Sir Keir was captured on live television and resulted in his arrest by security officials. However, Ashmawi has since expressed that he did not intend to harm Sir Keir and has apologized for his actions.

Despite being released without charge, Ashmawi maintains that his actions were justified as he believes the world is facing a grave danger from climate change. He has traveled extensively, visiting 13 countries across four continents in the last ten years. Ashmawi describes himself as “a bit of a weird one” and holds two master’s degrees. He is an active supporter of Extinction Rebellion and advocates for political reform to address the global crises in climate, nature, and society.

Merseyside police have confirmed that Ashmawi has been released without charge, but investigations are ongoing.
