Gaza is set to be completely destroyed and turned into a “tent city” as retaliation for Hamas’ recent terror attacks, according to an Israeli defense official. The United States has offered its support to Israel, deploying military assistance and dispatching an aircraft carrier to the area. Aid agencies are calling on Israel to open humanitarian corridors to allow food and medical supplies into Gaza. The United Nations reports that over 180,000 Gazans have been displaced, and the morgue in Gaza’s Khan Younis hospital is overwhelmed with bodies. Hamas has suffered significant losses, with the deaths of senior members Jawad Abu Shammala and Zakaria Abu Maamar. Israel accuses Abu Shammala of leading operations targeting Israeli civilians.
