Are they using their heads (or is it just plain fowl)? Upmarket restaurant sells bizarre chicken pies with the animal’s head poking through the crust

The quirky Le Grand Coq Pie costs £22 at London’s pop-up restaurant Fowl

The quirky Le Grand Coq Pie, priced at £22, is being sold at the upmarket London restaurant, Fowl. It features a chicken’s head poking through the crust, filled with its heart, liver, wings, and feet. The unique dish, also containing cockscomb plants, was created to minimize food waste by utilizing every part of the animal. Some food enthusiasts have praised the chef’s ingenuity, while others are repulsed by the design. Additionally, Fowl offers a Chicken Leg Corn Dog for £16, complete with the bird’s foot, and a chicken fat crème caramel dessert with a chicken skin crumb for £8. The Le Grand Coq pie was created by guest chef Pierre Koffman, who is currently collaborating with London’s Fallow restaurant. Despite some skepticism, the pie has been a popular item at the pop-up establishment, with high demand leading to frequent sell-outs.
