Cleveland Cavaliers’ president of basketball operations, Koby Altman, was arrested and charged for impaired driving Friday night, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
At around 9pm Friday night, officers conducted a traffic stop on State Route 2 in Cleveland on a white 2022 Lexus for a traffic violation, according to News 5 Cleveland.
Police say they noticed indicators of impairment during their interaction with the driver, who was later identified as the Cleveland executive.
Altman, 41, was then arrested for OVI and offered a breath test which he refused.
He was charged with committing a marked lanes violation and OVI, said police.

The Cavaliers released a statement on Altman’s arrest, via ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, saying: ‘We are aware of an incident involving Cavaliers President of Basketball Operations Koby Altman. We are currently gathering more information and have no further comment at this time.’
Altman has presided over the Cavaliers’ basketball operations since 2017, including the franchise’s rebuild following LeBron James’s second departure form the team in 2018.
He helped land cornerstones Darius Garland and Evan Mobley in the draft and traded for All-star guard Donovan Mitchell last summer.
Last season marked the first time Cleveland has made the postseason without James on its roster since 1998.
If convicted, Altman could face punishment from the league with precedent set after the NBA suspended Spurs guard Devonte Graham for the first two games of the 2023-24 regular season after his DWI conviction.
