Who’s who in today’s Royal Box? The VIP guests taking in the action at Wimbledon


It is one of the hottest tickets in sport, so it is no surprise that the Royal Box was packed with a dazzling array of stars as Wimbledon continued today.

Lady Amelia Windsor rubbed shoulders with Andrew Lloyd Webber and Pointless host Alexander Armstrong as the VIP guests took in the action on Centre Court.

But the trio were just a few of the many famous faces in the star-studded line-up in today’s Royal Box, with special guests ranging from entrepreneurs, actors, golfers and even a former Wimbledon Champion.

On Tuesday, the Princess of Wales was one of the exclusive attendees in the best seats in the house, alongside eight-time men’s Wimbledon champion Roger Federer and his wife Mirka, a former professional tennis player herself. 

Kate, 41, stunned in a white pleated skirt topped with a lime green and white blazer in a nod to tennis whites.

Also present in the Royal Box on Centre Court were composer Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber and his wife Madeleine Gurdon

Today, the Royal Box has been graced by more famous faces. Here, FEMAIL takes a look at another star-studded line-up watching the action on Centre Court. 

1. Paul Haarhuis and wife Anja

Paul Vincent Nicholas Haarhuis is a Dutch former professional tennis player, who reached a career high ranking of 18th in the world in 1995.

He is a former doubles world number one and has won a total of six grand slam doubles titles. 

2. Martina Navratilova 

Martina Navratilova, considered a tennis legend, has won 59 Grand Slam titles overall, including 31 in women’s doubles and 10 in mixed doubles.

The last was a mixed doubles championship with Bob Bryan at the 2006 US Open, a month shy of her 50th birthday.

Navratilova originally retired in 1994, after a record 167 singles titles and 331 weeks at No. 1 in the WTA rankings.

Just last month, the iconic athlete announced that she is clear of cancer.

‘Thank you to all the doctors, nurses, proton and radiation magicians etc- what a relief,’ she wrote.

Navratilova, 66, also added ‘f*** cancer’ in the post.

She revealed she had been diagnosed with throat cancer and breast cancer in January and that she would begin treatment that month.

3. Lady Amelia Windsor 

Lady Amelia Windsor looked stunning in chic sunglasses as she attended Wimbledon today. 

The 27-year-old socialite, who is the granddaughter of the Duke of Kent, looked effortlessly cool as she attended day five of the tennis tournament in London.

She donned an elegant white dress which had butterflies printed on it and had both straps tied in a bow.  The detailed frock showcased her sun-kissed skin and sophisticated figure as clapped at the tennis players.   

Lady Amelia paired her outfit with some gold jewellery – such as rings and necklaces – which she stacked on top of each other. 

4. George Windsor, Earl of St Andrews 

George Windsor, Earl of St Andrews is the son of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, and Katharine, Duchess of Kent.

The royal, 61, was in 2017 installed as Chancellor of the University of Bolton since 2017.

He is 42nd in the line of succession.

5. Dr Maggie Aderin Pocock

Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock is a space scientist, science communicator and presenter of BBC’s The Sky at Night.

She completed a PhD in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London in 1994, after an undergraduate degree in Physics.

She is Managing Director of Science Innovation Ltd, through which she organises public engagement activities which show school children and adults the wonders of space. 

This year she was made a ‘Barbie Role Model’ in recognition of her achievements in making space and science accessible to girls.

6. Sir Andrew Lloyd-Webber and his wife Madeleine Gurdon ​

Sir Andrew Lloyd-Webber is an award-winning composer, famous for the creation of several world-famous musicals.

Among the productions he has composed music for are Jesus Christ Superstar, Cats and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.

The composer, who was knighted in 1992, watched the action on Centre Court with his wife Madeleine Gurdon. 

7. Golfer Tommy Fleetwood and wife Clare Fleetwood

Tommy Fleetwood is an English professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour and European Tour. He has won six times on the European Tour.

He attended the first Friday of Wimbledon alongside his wife Clare, who works as his manager.

The couple have been married since December 2017, and share three children with one another.

8. Justin Rose

Justin Rose is an English professional golfer who first rose to fame when he finished fourth place at the 1998 Open Championship as an amateur.

He turned pro the next day but struggled during his first couple years as a professional, making few cuts.

He won the US Open in 2013 and was awarded an MBE in 2017, which he said would l ‘sit in pride of place with my other trophies’.

9. YolanDa Brown

YolanDa Brown is a British saxophonist, composer, and broadcaster. She is the winner of two Mobo Awards, and has collaborated with musicians like Dave Stewart of Eurythmics, Stereophonics frontman Kelly Jones and Rick Astley over the years. 

In 2022 she was appointed chair of the British Phonographic Industry. Earlier this year, she was among guests invited to a reception at Buckingham Palace to mark 75th anniversary of Windrush Generation’s arrival in UK, where she was pictured chatting with the Queen. 

10. Simon Le Bon 

The front man of Princess Diana’s favourite band, Duran Duran, looked cool in an all-white ensemble as he sat in the royal box to watch the action.

He paired his outfit with aviator-style sunglasses and sported clean shaven look.

Le Bon, 64, has been married to his glamorous wife Yasmin for 38 years and the pair share three children.

11. Amber Le Bon

Amber Rose Tamara Le Bon is a fashion model and the eldest of Simon and Yasmin Le Bon’s three daughters.

She looked chic in sunglasses and wore a dark outfit as she sat alongside her father on Centre Court this afternoon.

12. Andy Roe

Andy Roe is the current commissioner of the London Fire Brigade. 

He joined the LFB in 2002 when he was just 27 years old, but has a military background.

In 1997, he was commissioned from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and joined the 12th Regiment Royal Artillery, and served for two tours in Northern Ireland.

13. Alexander Armstrong

Pointless host Alexander Armstrong donned a smart blue suit as he arrived at Wimbledon for a day of tennis action. 

The beaming 53-year-old couldn’t help but smile when taking his seat amongst the other celebrities. 

Looking smart, the actor donned a white shirt and pink and white striped tie to complete his sophisticated look. 

 14. Marcus Wareing

Marcus Wareing, 53, is a celebrity chef who rose to fame after working with other industry heavyweights including Anton Edelmann and Gordon Ramsay.

Since 2014, he has been a judge on MasterChef: The Professionals.

He is also the Chef-Owner of Marcus – a Michelin-starred restaurant in Knightsbridge, London.

 15. Deborah Jevans 

Deborah Jevans CBE was earlier this year appointed that the first female Chair of Wimbledon – but it’s just one of the many historic leaps the tennis star has racked up in her career.

At 63, the former player has not only enjoyed a successful tennis career which saw her power through 10 Grand Slam singles tournaments and face off the legendary Virginia Wade, but has fought for her place in the boys’ clubs which ran the sports administration industry.

Aged just 27, she became director of the Women’s Game at the International Tennis Federation – and four years later in 1991, rose to General Secretary.

A dream role came along in 2003, when Debbie was the first woman in Olympic History to be appointed at her position – Director of Sport for an organising committee – for the 2012 games in London.

Following her success at the international event, she was then granted the revered chief executive position for the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
