A California man was tragically killed on Thursday right after he pulled above to support a household of ducks cross a highway and was hit by a teenage driver.

Casey Rivara, 41, was fatally struck by a motor vehicle at Stanford Ranch Street and Park Drive in Placer County, California, police claimed in a statement.

Rivara experienced stepped out of car or truck motor vehicle to “enable some ducklings that have been in the intersection” when a teenager strike him with her car, the statement said.

The 17-yr-outdated remained at the scene to cooperate, and police mentioned it’s unlikely she will confront felony fees as there appeared to be no felony carelessness, according to NBC Information. But authorities extra that an investigation was ongoing.

Witnesses explained Rivara safely and securely escorted the ducks away from website traffic and was returning to his car when the automobile struck him, according to NBC affiliate KCRA.

A 12-calendar year-previous boy who was at the scene, named William, mentioned persons were being cheering and clapping for Rivara.
