Dog The Bounty Hunter’s co-star David Robinson has died at 50 after having a ‘stroke or heart attack’ while on a Zoom call.
Robinson starred alongside Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman in Dog’s Most Wanted, which ran for a single season on WGN in 2019.
Robinson’s ex-wife Rainey, who also appeared on the show, confirmed his death to TMZ on Thursday, saying David was on a Zoom call when he had a medical emergency. Police and paramedics’ attempts CPR after arriving at the scene were unsuccessful.
Sources close to Robinson said he appeared to have had a ‘heart attack or stroke’ – but an official cause of death is yet to be confirmed.
Chapman paid tribute to his one-time co-star, saying: ‘I’m shocked and saddened by the sudden loss of David Robinson, my right-hand man of many years. Until we meet again, brother.’
Spin-off: David (circled) starred alongside Dog in Dog’s Most Wanted which aired on WGN back in 2019
The series had a different premise than Dog’s other shows, centering on hunting fugitives rather than people who had jumped bail.
In the series – which only had one 10-episode season – Dog not only juggled his career but also his wife Beth Chapman’s cancer diagnosis.
Beth passed away after a battle with throat cancer at the age of 51 in Honolulu, Hawaii back in June 2019.
Dog has endured a great deal of personal loss over the years as in addition to David and Beth, one of his daughters passed away in an accident 16 years ago.
Barbara Katie was one of Dog’s 12 children, and one of three he shares with third wife Lyssa Rae Brittain.
The 23-year-old was killed in a car accident in her native Fairbanks, Alaska on May 19, 2006.
