SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — Federal brokers mentioned they seized $2 million truly worth of cocaine on Wednesday that was strewn on a beach in Puerto Rico and uncovered the human body of a male trapped less than a close by boat that was carrying the medicine.
Brokers detected the boat traveling without having lights close to the northwest coastal city of Quebradillas in the pre-dawn hrs and followed it at a distance, reported U.S. Customs and Border Defense spokesman Jeffrey Quiñones. When brokers arrived on the beach, they located the boat had capsized, he explained.
Quiñones included that an undetermined number of other people who ended up on the boat fled. Agents seized 198 pounds (90 kilograms) of cocaine. It’s not apparent if the fugitives have been carrying extra medications with them, Quiñones explained.
An autopsy for the unidentified person is pending.
