(Trends Wide) — Some airports and theme parks in Florida halted operations Wednesday as Tropical Storm Nicole moves toward Florida’s east coast.

Orlando International Airport (MCO) said on Twitter which would halt trading at 4 pm ET on Wednesday.

The airport said it was tying down jet bridges and covering equipment at ticket counters in preparation for the storm and contacting emergency management officials.

Melbourne Orlando International Airport (MLB) planned to close at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, the airport tweeted. And Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) public which would close at 4 pm Wednesday.

“Please don’t come to the airport. The airport is not a sanctioned shelter,” the tweet from the Orlando Sanford airport said.

Walt Disney World parks in Orlando planned a phased closure beginning at 5 p.m. ET Wednesday due to the storm, with EPCOT and Magic Kingdom scheduled to be the last to close at 7 p.m. ET, according to a weather alert on the site. Disney website.

“We continue to closely monitor Tropical Storm Nicole, which remains a dynamic and evolving storm,” park officials said Tuesday.

Universal Orlando Resort made a similar operational decision, with Universal Orlando Resort, including CityWalk, planning to close at 5 p.m.

All flights in and out of Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) were canceled around 11 a.m. Wednesday, according to a tweet from the airport.

Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) said on Twitter that it would close at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, and that it planned to reopen at 4 am on Friday.

Miami International Airport (MIA) he tweeted Wednesday morning that it was open but that possible cancellations and delays due to the storm were expected.

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) said some flights had been delayed or canceled due to the storm. Both the Fort Lauderdale airport and the North Perry General Aviation Airport (HWO) remained open until noon on Wednesday, it was reported via Twitter.
