While Taylor Swift may be known by many as an all American girl, news she’s tying the knot to British beau Joe Alwyn could see the songstress ditch the US for a permanent move to the UK.
The popstar, 32, began dating the Conversations With Friends Star, 31, in late 2016 after they were rumored to have crossed paths at that year’s Met Gala in New York City, where the songstress lives.
Life in the US for Taylor appeared to revolve around, packing on the PDA with the likes of Jake Gyllenhaal and Tom Hiddleston while posting endless selfies with her supermodel ‘girl squad’ which included Karlie Kloss and Blake Lively.
But since she started dating Joe, the Shake It Off singer, 32, has increasingly withdrawn from the public eye – and is far more likely to be spotted dining at a private members club in London or walking on Hampstead Heath than than attending a glitzy ball in front of the world’s paparazzi.
While the couple are currently renting a £7 million property in Primrose Hill, also home to the likes of Lily James and Richard Madden, it appears Taylor is keen to cement her roots in the city – with reports the duo are looking to buy in the area.
When in the capital, she is known to love a trip to the pub – The Spaniard’s Inn in Hampstead being one of her favourites, while she loves a curry at the upmarket Gymkhana in Mayfair.

Not one to show off her vast wealth, Taylor has been quietly building an impressive property portfolio in the US for years.
This includes her vast Nashville estate in the exclusive suburb of Forest Hills. Costing a cool $2million, the 2,000sqft home boasts four bedrooms and four-and-half bathrooms – while celebrity neighbours reportedly include Nicole Kidman and fellow country star Keith Urban.
But perhaps her biggest prize is her enormous Rhode Island beach mansion, located a three-hour drive from the Hamptons in New York.
Sitting on a cliff edge, the sprawling 11,000sqft beach mansion, purchased for $17.8 million (£14.4m), overlooks 700ft of shoreline in the exclusive Watch Hill neighbourhood – where late nigh talk show host Conan O’Brien also owns a summer home.
Taylor also owns a string of other homes across the pond, including several penthouses in New York, and a mansion in Los Angeles.
Meanwhile her permanent home in the US was a four-bedroom townhouse in New York’s Tribeca neighborhood.
The home, which features a cinema, bar, gym and its own enclosed roof garden, was snapped up in an off-market deal before it ever went on sale.
She purchased the house in 2017 for $14 million.
But throughout her relationship with Joe, there have been near constant reports that the couple are looking for a more permanent base in the UK.
London – where Joe is based – or rural Oxfordshire are said to be two key locations being considered by the star.
A source previously said: ‘Taylor loves the UK and how she can live a relatively normal life without being disturbed. Setting down roots is something she’s thought long and hard about.’
In 2017, The Sun reported that Taylor has been checking out luxury abodes in the affluent area of Chelsea, just eight months into her romance with actor Joe.
The couple spent much of lockdown at his flat in nearby Crouch End. It is thought they decided to stay in the UK’s capital during lockdown as the Fearless hitmaker ‘doesn’t think jetting around is the right thing to be doing’ amid the pandemic.
Then, according to The Sun, the very private couple rented a £5 million pad in north London from a famous British rock star together.
A source told the publication: ‘They keep things extremely quiet together… but the fact they’ve decided to share a home for the first time is a pretty clear sign that they’re the real deal now.
‘They’ve been there for most of lockdown. Taylor doesn’t think jetting around the world is the right thing to be doing.
‘She wants to stick to the rules, and doing that together just made sense for them.’

And in March 2021, reports emerged Taylor was living in a £7 million six-bedroom townhouse in the North London enclave Primrose Hill with Joe.
Primrose Hill became infamous in the late Nineties and early Noughties as a hotbed of wild partying thanks to a coterie of hard-living locals that included Noel Gallagher, Kate Moss, Sadie Frost and Jude Law. More recent homebuyers include Claire Foy and Vanessa Kirby.
Taylor, who had been looking for a more suitable long-term British base, is currently renting the house.
Sources close to the US singer said at the time that she and Alwyn, the 30-year-old star of Oscar-winning movie The Favourite, wanted a bigger place during her time in the UK.
Two of her ex-boyfriends, singer Harry Styles and actor Tom Hiddleston, live little more than a proverbial stone’s throw away.
One Direction star Styles is based in adjacent Hampstead, while Hiddleston is thought to be less than a mile away.

Her inaugural event set the tone for that special Swift mix of guests, which always includes a standout television star, catwalk beauty approaching supermodel status, a model-turned-actress, assorted singers, a handful of heartthrobs, Hollywood headliners and her lifelong gal pals.

It’s no secret that Taylor loves Starbucks, having been photographed hundreds of times leaving the coffee chain, likely with her favourite order – a grande caramel nonfat latte.
While the UK has a branch of the American coffee giant on practically every corner, Taylor might keep things more traditional if she truly wants to go native.
The pop star is half way there, after revealing her favourite drink is a vodka and diet coke – unlike most of her fellow countrymen and women who have a soft spot for whisky.
And where better place to enjoy a voddy than a 16th century pub?

Taylor previously admitted that she loves an In-N-Out burger when in sunny LA, opting for a ‘cheeseburger, fries, and a chocolate shake.’

Taylor dated Joe in the early days of her singing career back in 2008, but sadly split after only a few months together.
The singer revealed that she was dumped over ‘phone call’ and their relationship was inspiration for the star’s much-loved album Fearless.
The Grammy-winning songstress then went onto slam Joe during an appearance on The Ellen Show, saying: ‘There’s one (song) that’s about that guy, but that guy’s not in my life anymore, unfortunately. That’s ouch.
‘We haven’t talked since, but you know what, some day I’m gonna find someone really really great who’s right for me.’

Many Swifties believe that the track released from the ‘vault’ is indeed about Joe as Taylor previously admitted to writing Fearless song Forever And Always about her relationship with Jonas and that since Mr. Perfectly Fine did not make the cut of the 2008 album it was likely written at the same time.
However Swift has not confirmed whether the track about a long lost love who ‘looked me in the eye and told me you would never go away’ is indeed about The Jonas Brothers member.

John Mayer reportedly dated Taylor from December 2009 through February 2010 when he was 31 and she was 19.
They originally met when she collaborated on his song Half of My Heart.
The romance seemingly ended on bad terms based on her scathing song Dear John which many people believe is about him.
The name of the song as well as lyrics recalling her age (19) at the time of the romance appear to lead to the conclusion that is is fact about John and their rocky but brief romance, although the songstress never confirmed it was about him.
The timing of the song also confirms its about John: She released the song in October 2010 on her Speak Now album, eight months after their reported split.
The tune gave insight on how Taylor and John’s reported romance went wrong, with the singer singing in tune: ‘Dear John, I see it all now that you’re gone/ Don’t you think I was too young to be messed with / The girl in the dress cried the whole way home.’
