twenty Random (and AWESOME) Info about Ljubljana

1 . Some mountain bike alleys have sidewalks. A number of don’t.

Cycling seems to be the standard means of transportation in Ljubljana, which is perhaps why the surroundings are so clean right now there. And since cycling is so famous, there are bicycle alleys all over the place. Walking, on the other side, doesn’t look so famous amongst natives, so certain sidewalks comprise solely bicycle walkways.

2 . Guys are incredibly handsome. So are girls, but many of us simply couldn’t stop gazing at men!

Seriously, if you are a lady reading this, please contain your bags and towards Ljubljana! I will not possibly be exaggerating if I say that I possess never seen so many attractive men in one place. Want to know the best part about it – they’re likewise gentlemen! God bless Slovenia!

3. You cannot buy alcohol consumption at gas stations between twenty-one and 7 o’clock.

I recently used the sentence that all Slovenians use. Do not be fooled by the part that says “at gas stations” because they do not have supermarkets open 24/7. Bottom line: you can’t buy alcohol between 21 and 7. You are able to, however, go to a bar, however except for the Sarajevo ’84 restaurant, I don’t think everything else works at night.

4. There is fog every morning, which is a good thing.

I don’t truly know if this applies to almost all seasons, but it is definitely correct during fall. Every early morning when we woke up there was haze outside, but then until regarding 11 a. m. this cleared out and we loved beautiful sunny days. Local people told us that when we come across a foggy day we ought to actually be happy; if the time starts with rain, chances are it will also end along with rain.

5. Nearly everyone talks English in Ljubljana!

We loved this about Slovenia. Everyone we ever talked to responded in great English and nearly absolutely no accent whatsoever. According to local people, the past several generations happen to be learning English from the second half of elementary school so now everyone is progressive in it.

6. People through Ljubljana are early wild birds.

This I have no description for, but it’s a fact. Individuals in Ljubljana go to bed earlier and wake up early, that might explain the overall healthy searching population with fresh, thoroughly clean skin.

7. There are more individuals practising sports than being placed in McDonald’s.

It was such an enjoyment to look at people practising sports activities everywhere around Ljubljana as the fast food chains were actually empty! Slovenians are a motivation!

8. Everyone is polite, which is not a pose.

This is nearly unbelievable, I know! Nevertheless, it can be true. People in Ljubljana are polite simply because this is the way they’ve been raised. They are indeed the best distributors of the Slavic ethnicity that we have ever seen: cosy, yet not noisy and also, very nice!

9. Ljubljana is secure.

You can walk around the city from 4 a. m. along with worry about nothing! There are zero stray dogs and the most significant vandals we encountered through our stay were typically the trees that were “throwing” their very own leaves on us.

twelve. The biggest pollution in Ljubljana is from the trees through fall.

It is so great to walk around and see fresh streets, parks, building rapid everything. But most of all rapid it was a true pleasure to determine people, who actually attention enough to the place that they live in not to throw their very own garbage on the streets. Virtually unbelievable, but true!

14. People aren’t simply extra tall; they’re long!

I am one particular, 74cm and in Bulgaria gowns relatively tall. For Cyprus and London (the various other two places I’ve been living in) it is quite tall. Throughout Ljubljana, I was a midget and I loved it! But since I mentioned above, people presently there aren’t just tall: they have these long, stunning muscles that make them seem insanely good!

12. Vehicles around Ljubljana can be free of charge!

Pay one euro for starters week and ride a motorcycle anywhere in Ljubljana literally at no cost! I am not kidding: check online for the metropolis bikes before you visit and also register online. Registration will take 2 minutes and there are numerous bicycle stations where you can hire all around Ljubljana.

13. Accommodations usually have one electricity put per room, 2 at most.

That was puzzling and pretty surprising. During our few days in Ljubljana, we were stuck in 4 different sites and everything was great, except for the fact we had trouble charging all our units.

14. Grass remains environment-friendly until winter starts.

Bear in mind the fog I mentioned above. My partner and I admit it may not be the sweetest thing to wake up in a very foggy city every day, although this is the reason the grass remains to be really green throughout the total autumn. So, fog: occur to be forgiven!

15. Everything is definitely spacious. Streets are vast, and so are sidewalks, apartments, eateries, etc.

Have you been to the previous town of Plovdiv with Bulgaria or to any of the cafés and restaurants in London? If so, then I promise you’ll come to know how spacious everything in Ljubljana is!

16. Slovenians (in Ljubljana) are not xenophobic.

A breath of the outdoors! I love these people – I was warmly welcome everywhere most of us went!

17. Everyone tours bicycles. It seems to be the standard means of transportation.

Another one connected with my favourite things about Ljubljana. The simple truth is (very handsome) guys having suits, (beautiful) ladies with office attire, young boys, girls, and pensioners in athletics clothing – all of them driving bicycles around town and also minding their own business! I believe incredibly inspired by these individuals!

18. Except (some) gasoline stations nothing else will be 24/7.

This came as a surprise to me at first, yet I grew to appreciate it over time because good relaxation makes happy people and no one really can rest in raucous cities where everything is consistently open. Nevertheless, you can buy snow at any time of the day from a robotic store in Ljubljana. USB up, Slovenia!

19. These recycling is a national sport.

For that 7 days, I spent inside Ljubljana, I could not end comparing it to Sofia and London. Having rubbish bins everywhere was thus awesome! It may sound foolish to you but in Sofia locating a bin is a challenge and in the town centre of London – is impossible. The thing that was even more shocking yet awesome was the fact that nearly every rubbish bin was separated directly into 3 sections: paper, plastic-type and general garbage. This is one way one knows the place great – when everyone likes the environment.

20. Ljubljana offers the best of all worlds.

Slavic people are the best. I am definitely not kidding – we are comfy and nice human beings having large hearts and always able to have fun. Meanwhile, we’re in addition hard-working, talented and really capable. Sadly, most of the places with Slavic populations experienced quite an unfortunate history and presently you can see the results of the Ottoman Empire ruling and the put in place communist regime in most persons. Slovenians are however un-tampered with by this evil. They often represent everything that the word Slavic means, combined with the discipline of the Germans. In all honesty, I really needed to call myself a Slovenian while there – as a Slavic person myself I like to show off them and will point to these individuals as an example of the finest individuals every chance I find!
