Northbound Gear Waterproof Pants Review

I’ve been hiking, mountaineering, and backpacking for nearly a decade, and am happy to share my experiences with Northbound Gear’s Gamma LT Waterproof Pants. These lightweight, waterproof pants are made of a lightweight, breathable, and durable material. The mountaineering pants I use are also excellent choices for any type of trip. They are great for hiking, camping, and any other activity in which a layer is necessary.

Gamma LT

A softshell pant, the Gamma LT Pant from Arcteryx is an excellent option for active outdoor pursuits in warmer weather. With its stretch and abrasion-resistant material, it makes an excellent base layer for a wide variety of activities. We also appreciate that they are very comfortable against the skin. The Gamma LT is a great choice for ski touring in the Eastern Sierra, where a base layer is not needed.

As for the design, these waterproof pant by Arc’teryx is more comfortable and durable than its predecessor. The Gamma LT features drawcords, which allow you to secure the cuffs without hindering movement. The hem is also articulated, so you can move freely. The Gamma LT is ideal for vertical activities, but it’s not suitable for very hot or cold climates.

These waterproof pants from Arc’teryx are available in both men’s and women’s versions. They have articulated patterning, making them ideal for backcountry skiing. They also have two side pockets and one cargo-thigh pocket. Another feature is an integrated belt that features a chamois interior and a slim profile. These features make them an excellent choice for hiking on cool autumn days.

A soft waistband liner and mesh-lined pockets help prevent abrasion, and an integrated belt adds comfort. The pants also feature a flat-folding style with a flat-folding waist and ankle cinch cord. A padded waist and ankle cuffs keep your thighs and feet warm. While we weren’t able to test these pant features while testing, we were impressed by their overall quality.

Outdoor Research Foray

When it comes to waterproof pants, the Outdoor Research Foray long GORE-TEX pants are the best bet. This lightweight, waterproof and breathable pants provide excellent protection from rain, wind, and cold. And they won’t make you feel like you’re wearing a thick coat! Whether you’re headed to the local park or on a trek in the wilderness, the Foray will keep you dry and comfortable.

The full-length, TorsoFlo side zips on the Foray extend all the way to the bottom hem. These zippers create a poncho-like opening that allows for plenty of venting on the trail without compromising mostly waterproof coverage. And, unlike traditional zippers, the vents aren’t compromised by pressure points, as they only affect the area behind the bottom zipper stop. Likewise, the cinch cord covers the back of the hem and not the front.

These ultralight rain pants from Outdoor Research are made of Gore-Tex Paclite fabric and are among the lightest rain pants on the market. They also have just the right combination of features to make them the best choice for backpacking and outdoor enthusiasts alike. They’re extremely comfortable, have excellent ventilation, and are easy to pack, making them the perfect rain pant for virtually any weather situation. And because of their lightweight construction, they won’t weigh you down either.

The Outdoor Research Foray is a versatile rain pant. It can easily fit over a pair of boots. And because they are lightweight and breathable, they’re ideal for high-intensity activity. But there are a few cons to these waterproof pants. While they’re a great option for outdoor activities, they are not the best choice for everyday use. So, before buying the Foray, make sure to read our Outdoor Research Foray Waterproof Pants Review.

The Outdoor Research Foray waterproof pants are made of Gore-Tex PacLite material. This material is lightweight, durable, and breathable, and is made of two layers: a GORE-TEX material on the exterior and a polyurethane inner layer. This waterproof fabric prevents water from permeating the pant’s material, so it doesn’t need a lining. The pants also feature articulated knees and an elastic waist that adjusts to fit almost any size. The waist is adjustable, and the pants have a 3/4 zipper.

Another important factor to consider before buying these waterproof pants is the fit. The Foray Pants have a standard fit, so you can wear them underneath a pair of hiking pants or base layers without feeling confined. Its lightweight weight is 10.7 oz (302g) and has drawcord and instep lace loops for suspenders. These features make the pants extremely comfortable to wear, and 82% of Amazon reviewers have been satisfied with the fit.

REI Co-Op Essentials

The REI Co-Op Essentials Waterproof pant is geared toward the average hiker, but it offers better performance than average. It is made of a 2.5-layer waterproof fabric that allows some airflow but is also sturdy enough to withstand heavy rain showers. These pants are 9.5 ounces, making them comfortable for medium-sized hikers. They come in a women’s version as well.

These pants are designed to withstand even the most extreme weather, making them an essential piece of clothing for a rainy day adventure. They are breathable and waterproof, and they are available in petite sizes for women with short legs. They also fit women up to 5’3″.

Made from a nylon shell and laminated lining, REI Co-Op Essentials Water-Op Pants are lightweight and durable, and they have a waistband that adjusts. Zip-up leg openings make them easy to slide over pads and shoes. Featuring a zip-up pocket on the left leg, these waterproof pants are designed to be easy to pack and wear over other clothes.

These rain pants are functional and packable, and they are less expensive than some of the top-notch models. They also are more affordable than many other waterproof pants. They don’t breathe as well as some of the better-named brands, but they’ll keep you dry on the rainiest days. With their lightweight construction and ankle-length zippers, REI Co-Op Essentials Waterproof Pants are an excellent choice for day hikers and backpackers.

The REI Essential Waterproof Pants feature proprietary 2.5-layer fabric that keeps out water and prevents leaks. The pants also feature articulated knees for better movement. These pants are ideal for hiking, backpacking, and skiing. They also don’t offer the best freedom of movement. Nonetheless, they do offer the best protection from the rain and are a great addition to any outdoor adventurer’s closet.

Another great pair of rain pants is the OR Foray. These pants are incredibly waterproof thanks to their Gore-Tex PacLite technology. The Outdoor Foray’s hydrostatic head is 28,000mm and MVTR is 25,000 g/m2/24h. This makes them the best waterproof rain pants on the market, but they’re also a little bit heavier than other rain pants. The REI Foray pants also have some nice touches, such as a gusset crotch.

REI Co-Op’s Essential Rain Pants come in petite sizes. This makes it easier for petite hikers to choose a pair that fits comfortably. Because the Petite versions are made with a petite-friendly cut, they should be 2.5 inches shorter in the inseam, 0.75 inches shorter in the rise, and an inch shorter in the body longer than the regular versions. However, these pants are still not as durable as classic rain pants.
