  • Anju and Nasrullah’s wedding in Pakistan’s Upper Dir district took place amid stringent security measures.
  • Prior to her marriage, Anju shared a touching video expressing her happiness and safety in Pakistan.

Anju, an Indian Woman and a mother of two, flew to a rural Pakistani hamlet to wed a Facebook lover on Tuesday after converting to Islam, changing her name to Fatima.

In the Upper Dir neighbourhood of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the 34-year-old Indian woman was staying at the residence of her 29-year-old Pakistani acquaintance Nasrullah. On Facebook, they grew close in 2019.

They exchanged vows in a district and sessions judge’s local court, with heavy guards present.

After she embraced Islam, Anju had a legitimate nikkah today, according to Muhammad Wahab, a senior official at Moharrar City Police Station in the Upper Dir District, who spoke to PTI.

Both, according to the police, appeared in court in Upper Dir in front of Nasrullah’s family, law enforcement officers, and attorneys.

Nasir Mehmood Satti, the deputy inspector general for Malakand Division, verified the nikkah and revealed that the Indian woman Anju had changed her name to Fatima after converting to Islam.

He said that the Indian woman had been transferred from the court to her house with police protection, according to Geo News. They said they signed the nikkah of their own free will in writing. According to the report, the Indian woman informed the court that she came to Pakistan voluntarily and is enjoying herself in her new country.

Both took a sightseeing tour earlier on Monday while under heavy security. According to police authorities, they went to the Lawari tunnel that connects Dir Upper District and Chitral District.

Anju and Nasrullah could be seen relaxing in a beautiful green garden while holding hands in the photographs taken during their vacation to attractive tourist destinations.

According to Geo News on Tuesday, Anju recorded a brief video before her marriage in which she claims that she “feels safe” in Pakistan. Anju was born in the Uttar Pradesh hamlet of Kailor and resided in the Rajasthani region of Alwar.

“I want to give this message to everyone that I have come here legally and with planning as it was not about two days that I came here all of a sudden, and I am safe here,” she stated in the video.

She pleaded with the journalists to avoid bothering her family members and kids. Arvind, who resides in Rajasthan, is married to Anju. They have a boy who is six years old and a daughter who is fifteen. Anju lawfully crossed the Wagah-Attari border into Pakistan from India.

Anju would be given a 30-day visa, good just for Upper Dir; the chancery was informed in an official letter from the Ministry of Interior submitted to Pakistan’s High Commission in New Delhi.

The youngest of five brothers, Nasrullah is a science graduate from a university in Sheringal. Nasrullah has provided an affidavit to the local authorities declaring that their friendship has no romantic overtones and that Anju will travel to India on August 20.

The Indian woman’s travel paperwork was verified as valid by a senior police officer in the area, and she was permitted to stay with Nasrullah, who was given instructions to take care of her.

She entered Pakistan on a visit visa for a month, and all of her travel documentation is legitimate and full, according to Upper Dir District Police Officer (DPO) Mushtaq Khan on Monday.

According to Khan, who reported to Geo News, “Anju has come to Pakistan from New Delhi for the sake of love and is living happily here.”

Anju left home on Thursday on the pretence of travelling to Jaipur, but later the family learned she was in Pakistan, according to Anju’s husband Arvind, who spoke to the media in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan. He expressed his want for her to return back.
