Heeraba Modi, the mother of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, passed away on Friday morning at the age of 100. She was 100 years old. She was hospitalised to Ahmedabad’s UN Mehta Hospital after her health declined and was later discharged.
Smt. Heeraba Modi passed away on December 30, 2022, at 3:39 am (early morning), while receiving treatment at UN Mehta Heart Hospital, according to a statement from the hospital where she had been admitted since Wednesday.
The Prime Minister tweeted a heartfelt message early this morning to inform the public of her passing “A glorious century rests at the feet of God… In Maa, I have always felt that trinity, which contains the journey of an ascetic, the symbol of a selfless Karmayogi and a life committed to values.”

Heeraba Modi resided in Raysan village, close to Gandhinagar, with PM Modi’s younger brother Pankaj.
On most of his trips to Gujarat, the Prime Minister would drop by Raysan and spend time with his mother.
In Gandhinagar, PM Modi’s Mother Heeraba Modi was cremated. Prior to the former lighting the pyre, the prime minister and his brother Somabhai Modi were seen paying their respects to her mortal remains.

President Droupadi Murmu extended her heartfelt condolences by taking to her official twitter handle.

Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, posted a message of condolence on Twitter following Heeraba Modi’s passing.

Rajnath Singh, the Union Defence Minister, also expressed his condolences on Twitter after the death of Heeraba Modi.

In the wake of his mother’s passing, Prime Minister Modi was supposed to travel to West Bengal to officially launch a number of development projects, but he had to virtually attend the events.
Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, offered PM Modi her condolences for the loss of his mother while he was attending an event in Howrah via video conference.
