In a media interview, Deb Arti revealed that her mother was very young and that her father, a doctor in Shillong, died when he was still a toddler. She claimed that after her father passed away, her mother moved her in with her grandma and began working there. Deb Arti claimed that although her mother has been worried about her, she has always wanted her to find a life partner for herself.
Additionally, she stated that her mother was caught up in a family dispute over property following the death of her father. It took a long time to persuade her mother to go for a second marriage.
