Prince Andrew’s Scandal Could Allow Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to escape the Circus of Royal LifeJacqueline Sahagian 20 November 2017 The upcoming comedy for James Franco and Seth Rogen about a talk show host and his producer was sent to interview and then assassinated North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un. Franco plays the host of the trashy celebrity talk show Skylark Tonight with David Skylark and Rogen plays producer Aaron Rapoport at the show. In an effort to become trustworthy journalists, when the two hear that Kim Jong-Un is a fan of the show, they set up an interview with him. When the CIA discovers that the pair must meet the infamous tyrant they are assigned the task of assassinating him by the government agency. The trailer promises much humor and bromance, as previous Rogen-Franco comedies have seen. The actors are regular satirical partners known for movies such as Pineapple Express and This Is the End as well as their famous spoof of Kanye West’s “Bound 2?? music video, which they recreated shot-for-shot with Rogen portraying Kim Kardashian and Franco playing Kayne. The video went viral and encouraged West who usually doesn’t want people to make fun of him to invite the couple to perform for Kardashian at his recent nuptials which Rogen and Franco politely declined. Another film on the horizon for the pair is an adaptation of the actor Greg Sestero’s autobiography about making The Room the 2003 movie known as “the Citizen Kane of bad movies” and widely regarded as the worst movie ever made. Franco’s Rabbit Bandini productions opted for the rights to Sestero’s recent book The Disaster Artist, which explores the strange story of film making and the excentric man behind it, Tommy Wiseau, the writer-director-star. Rogen also collaborated with the younger Franco brothers as Dave co-starred with Rogen and Zac Efron in last month’s recent $49 million breakout hit, marking one of the biggest opening weekends for an R-rated movie. The success of that film bodes well for The Interview which will possibly also have a R rating and a similar raunchy humor style. Efron’s interaction with Neighbors helped draw a female audience and the sex appeal of James Franco might do the same for his film. For James ‘ forthcoming adaptation of William Faulkner’s classic novel The Sound and the Fury, Rogen and the Franco brothers are also signed on. James is set to directly adapt the novel and star screenplay as Benjy Compson, the mentally challenged protagonist. Dave is rumored to be up for the role of Quentin Compson and as one of the leaders of the doomed Compson family, Rogen will assume a rare non-comedic part. The similar effort made last year by the elder Franco to adapt Faulkner’s As I Lay Dying was a critical failure, but he seems to give it a go again even though adapting the writer’s stream-of-conscious writing style is a tricky task that the actor hasn’t exactly proven adept at. The interview also stars Randall Park as Lizzy Caplan’s Jong-Un, and Sex Masters. The film is scheduled for release October 10.
