Ruto calls on Narok leaders to solve banditry issues

President William Ruto has on Sunday called on Narok Leaders to solve their issues so as to end the banditry menace in the region.

Speaking during a Sunday church service in Kilgoris, Narok County, the Head of State noted that the talks will play an important role as the work put in by the Ministry of Internal affairs is not bearing fruits.

  • Angata Nanyekie MCA killed by suspected bandits in Samburu
  • Primary school headteacher shot dead by armed bandits in Baringo

“There are things that can be solved at the community level so that people live in harmony. I urge the clergy, all leaders, the county government to work together,” he said

“My government will partner with you to solve the vice so that Narok goes forward in peace and so that everyone focuses on development without people losing their lives.” he continued

The statement follows increased violence in the volatile area despite heavy police deployment by the government.

President William Ruto also noted that there will be a meeting soon convened by Interior CS Kithure Kindiki to forge the way forward. The meeting will include local leaders.
