Super petrol and diesel prices decrease by Ksh 7.21 and Ksh 5.09

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has confirmed a reduction in fuel prices for a period of one month from 15th March 2024 to 14th April 2024.

“In accordance with Section 101(y) of the Petroleum Act 2019 and Legal Notice No.192 of 2022, has calculated the maximum retail prices of petroleum products, which will be in force from 𝟏𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 𝐭𝐨 𝟏𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒.” said EPRA

Under the new revised prices, super petrol, Diesel and Kerosene have decreased by Ksh 7.21, Ksh 5.09 and Ksh 4.49 respectively.

“In the period under review, the maximum allowed petroleum pump price for 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥, 𝐃𝐢𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐥and 𝐊𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 by 𝐊𝐒𝐡𝐬.𝟕.𝟐𝟏, 𝐊𝐬𝐡𝐬.𝟓.𝟎𝟗 and 𝐊𝐒𝐡𝐬.𝟒.𝟒𝟗 per litre respectively.

In Nairobi, Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene will now retail at Kshs.199.15, Kshs.190.38 and Kshs.188.74 effective midnight for the next 30 days.” said EPRA

The news will definitely be welcomed by motorists and Kenyans at large who have been crying the high cost of living caused by increased prices of fuel.

Prices of other commodities were also affected by the price increase thus affecting business which have been forced to downsize so as to meet its obligations.
