Pastor Ezekiel summoned by Senate over Shakahola deaths

Pastor Ezekiel Odero has been summoned by the Senate Ad Hoc committee investigating religious organizations to shed more light on the Shakahola deaths.

The Friday summon will see the Senate understand how members of the Good News International Church led by controversial preacher Paul Mackezie die in large numbers in Shakahola.

During the summon, the Senate will also get to understand if the church has met all legal requirements and the teachings of the church.

Speaking in regard to the summon was Pastor Ezekiel’s lawyer Danstan Omari who requested the Senate to have his client present video evidence among other important documentations.

“Additionally, we hereby request an appointment at 2 pm today, October 11, 2023, as his designated legal representatives. This meeting is essential for adequate planning and coordination concerning the impending presentation. Your prompt attention to this matter will be highly appreciated,” said the Lawyer
