Gachagua: Gov’t to reinstate security of Azimio leaders after 3 months

The government has resolved to re-instate Security detail of Azimio la Umoja leaders and its members after three months.

This was revealed by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua who said that they will do so when they show consistency in ending anti-government protests.

Gachagua who was speaking from Alliance High School said that the security detail withdrawn had been deployed to deal with demonstration they called for.

“I’m sorry your security was taken away. Your officers were taken to deal with demonstrators,”

“We did not have sufficient officers to deal with demos for three days. Your officers will be returned to you after three months when we are sure there are no demos.” said the second in command

In July, the security detail of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and that of 50 Azimio members was withdrawn in the mist of the countrywide demonstrations.

Others who saw their security withdrawn include Homa Bay and Kisumu Governors Gladys Wanga and Anyang’ Nyong’o respectively.
