Several people are feared dead on Tuesday evening after a lorry ferrying gumboots veered off the Road landing on top of a tuk-tuk in Kachok area, Kisumu County.
At the time of the accident, both the tuk-tuk and lorry were traveling in the same direction before the Trailer lost control while negotiating a sharp corner on top of the flyover.
Area residents thronged the scene of the accident as they called on the Kenya National Highway Authority (KeNHA) to improve the road in the area which has lately become a blackspot.

Police officers led by Kisumu East OCPD Joseph Obiero and rescue teams also rushed to the scene to rescue those trapped below the trailer. Those who were at the scene were also advised to pave the way for rescue operations.
At some point, police were forced to lobby teargas in the air so as to disperse the large crowd that attempted to steal the contents of the lorry.
