Malala now calls Wetangula and Kingi to resign as party leaders

UDA Secretary-General Cleophas Malala has called on National Assembly and Senate Speakers Moses Wetangula and Amason Kingi to step down from their party positions.

Speaking on Tuesday, the former Kakamega Senator noted that the two are now state officials and should resign as party leaders of Ford Kenya and PAA respectively.

“He should resign and allow us to engage the next party leader of FORD Kenya on matters of dissolution. He cannot contribute because he is a State officer and State officers are not allowed to contribute to matters of political parties and participate in politics. That is the position of the constitution,” said Malala

According to Malala the parties under Kenya Kwanza are as good as dissolved so as to pave the way for all of them to unite under UDA. He continued by saying that the party leaders have just not accepted that they are not political as they were before.

Malala also requested Foreign Affairs CS Alfred Mutua of Maendeleo Chap Chap and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi of ANC party to follow the same path and fold up the parties to UDA.

The news comes at a time when those in opposition have accused President William Ruto of planning to kill multi-partyism in the country and drag the country back to the dark days of dictatorship.
