Cecily Mbarire replaces Johnson Muthama as UDA chairperson

Embu governor Cecily Mbarire has been named the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) chairperson replacing former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama.

Former Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has ditched Amani National Congress (ANC) party and joined UDA where he will be the Secretary General replacing nominated Senator Veronica Maina.

Other changes include EALA MP Hassan Omar who has been named UDA Vice-Chairperson replacing Kipruto Kirwa. Omingo Magara who was the party treasurer has been replaced by Japhet Nyakundi.

Confirming the news was outgoing Secretary General Veronica Maina who spoke on Monday, February 27th outside Hustler Plaza.

Cleophas Malala who unsuccessfully vied for the Kakamega gubernatorial seat has been the force behind the ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi and President William Ruto union ahead of the August elections.

He has however failed to make the cut in the ongoing government positions under the Kenya Kwanza administration raising questions as to what is next for the youthful leader.
