President William Ruto has promised every household in the country will get a gas cylinder in the next three years as a government commitment towards the use of clean energy.
“In the next three years, we will make sure that every homestead will have a gas cylinder issued by the government to ensure that we stop using firewood as a source of energy.” Said President Ruto

Speaking on Sunday during a tour of the port of Lamu, the Head of State further cemented his promise that the government will remove tax on gas so as to ensure its prices are reduced.

“I have already ordered that in the next budget, we will remove all the taxation on gas, to reduce the cost of gas to make it affordable for every household,” said Ruto
He continued by confirming the issuance of Ksh 25 billion towards the manufacturing of gas cylinders that will achieve his goal of clean energy in the country.
President Ruto was speaking as he confirmed that the port of Lamu will unlock economic potential of the region through infrastructure development and creation of industries.
“An efficient port of Lamu will unlock the economic potential of the region through infrastructure development, investment and creation of new industries.
This will create jobs and opportunities for the local community. We will also offer scholarships and training on port-related issues to the locals.” said Ruto
